Whether you need furniture assembly, help with a loose cupboard hinge, a catching drawer or a local wall patch, tell us what is troubling you and where it happens. Shelves, Picture Hanging and Curtain Rod Fixings
For shelves, mirrors, picture hooks, blinds and curtain rods, give the model or instructions, size, intended position and weight or load if known. Identify a new installation separately from a loose fitting. The wall, fixing points, concealed services and any required permission affect the method; existing holes do not prove that a new item can be supported.
For a gallery wall, provide the frame count, desired spacing and proposed layout before agreeing mounting positions. Older plaster and brick or masonry walls need their actual condition checked with the mirror or frame weight; a wall-type label alone does not establish a suitable fixing.
Floating shelves use their own concealed bracket system. Give the shelf model, intended load and manufacturer fixing requirements for assessment. A shelf tilting under books may involve the bracket or its attachment, while a shelf sagging between supports may involve the shelf itself. A suspect fitting can stay unloaded while the actual product, wall and intended load are assessed for suitable installation.
Keep unstable fittings unused. Any wall patching, paint touch-ups or trim repair should be identified separately, including the damage and finish you want assessed.
Flat-pack furniture and wardrobe assembly
Share the product model, instructions and box count before arranging assembly. We review the supplied kit and intended position, then confirm the work and space required. A partly assembled unit should be described at its current stage, including missing fittings or damaged panels.
Keep small parts together and provide a clear area for laying out panels. Manufacturer securing instructions and the suitability of the supporting surface are considered before any wall fixing is agreed.
Kitchen cupboard doors, cabinet hinges and drawer runners
A cupboard front that hangs unevenly, a hinge screw that no longer holds and a drawer that jams are separate repair questions. Tell us which doors or drawers are affected, whether the issue changes during normal use and whether the supporting cabinet edge is visibly damaged.
We check cupboard-door alignment, hinge condition and the material holding each fixing. Our Unley case shows door-alignment work. If the supporting board is damaged, that mounting point needs its own repair assessment before an adjustment is agreed.
For a drawer, mention the cabinet or furniture model and any safely visible runner markings. Compatible dimensions, mounting points and the cabinet condition need checking before adjustment or replacement is agreed. A heavy drawer can remain fitted while the existing runner is identified and compatibility is checked before purchase.
A flat-pack wardrobe needing assembly belongs with furniture assembly. A sliding wardrobe door needing roller or guide assessment belongs with door repair. These tasks can be listed together, but their scope and parts remain separate.
Interior Repair Quotes: Parts, Mountings and Finishing
Keep assembly, cabinet hardware, wall fixing, patching, painting and trim repairs as separate items in the quote. Quantities, compatible parts and supporting materials affect the work. Confirm who supplies materials and whether packaging or waste handling is included.
At completion, review the agreed fittings and opening or drawer movement with MEL ONE. Mention any remaining alignment issue. Appliance faults and concealed services follow a separate assessment rather than being treated as ordinary furniture repairs.
Corded Blinds and Child-Safety Components
A tensioner, cleat or cord guide helps keep a blind cord or chain secured rather than leaving a reachable loop. Product instructions, the specified cord-safety components, secure attachment and required labels must be considered when fitting corded coverings. Keep children away from reachable cords and move cots and furniture away from them. Confirm the actual blind and fitting arrangements before installation.

Can I combine furniture assembly with cupboard and shelf repairs?
Yes. List each item by room, including affected doors or drawers, and mark priorities, access and approval restrictions. We confirm the individual work, suitable parts, fixing or finishing and visit arrangements in the quote. A combined enquiry does not confirm that every task can be completed in one visit.
Do I need to unpack every furniture box first?
Send the model and box details first. We confirm how to prepare the room and whether the panels should remain packed until assembly.
Can you assess a partly assembled wardrobe?
Yes. Include the instructions, current assembly stage and any missing or damaged parts. We review the kit before agreeing how to complete or correct the assembly.
Can a drawer runner be replaced without changing the whole cabinet?
It may be possible if the cabinet and mounting points remain suitable and compatible runners can be sourced. MEL ONE checks the drawer, runner dimensions and supporting material before agreeing adjustment or replacement.
