Sliding door repair: photographed cases

MEL ONE repairs sliding patio doors that drag, catch or need extra force to move. Depending on the door condition and compatible parts, work can include lower-roller repair or replacement, clearing loose track debris and adjusting panel alignment. We check the roller housing, running surface, guides and closing contact together; new rollers alone will not correct every damaged track or frame.

Rollers carry the moving panel; the track and guides control its path. A damaged running surface, a panel that drags and a latch that misses its keeper are different faults. Heavy, unstable or damaged glass panels should stay in place and should not be forced.

Real evidence: lower rollers and a dusty track

Our photographed patio-door repair records a door that was hard to move and noisy when pushed forcefully. The work included damaged lower-roller repair, clearing dust from the track and reinstalling the door. The case photos show the lower track, roller work and reinstalled panel. patio door roller and track repair record

The Marion wardrobe-door case shows a separate lower-roller repair and panel alignment. It is useful for wardrobe repairs, but its parts and handling should not be treated as interchangeable with a heavy glazed patio door. Marion wardrobe roller repair

Sliding Door Type, Roller Symptoms and Track Photos

Sliding patio-door repair costs depend on the number and weight of panels, roller and track condition, compatible parts and access. The written quote separates adjustment or roller work from glass replacement, frame damage and other specialist work. Your suburb and a short description are enough to start; heavy glass panels stay fitted.

Sliding Door Repairs: Repair Questions

Will new sliding door rollers fix a damaged track?

Not necessarily. Rollers run on the track, so a damaged running surface or misaligned guide may still cause binding after roller replacement. MEL ONE assesses the panel, track and guides together before agreeing a targeted repair.

Will cleaning the track fix a hard-to-move sliding door?

It may help when debris is the issue, but damaged rollers or a worn track can require repair. The supplied patio-door record had both damaged lower rollers and dust in the channel.

Are patio doors and wardrobe doors repaired the same way?

Not necessarily. Panel weight, rollers, guides and track profiles differ. Identify the door type so the assessment and compatible parts relate to the actual system.

Should I remove the glass panel for photos?

No. Leave heavy panels in place. Safe existing photos and a description are enough to request assessment, with a stuck or unstable door left at rest.

Can replacement rollers be chosen just because a sliding door is aluminium?

The frame material alone does not identify a compatible roller. The housing, fixing arrangement, track profile and panel need checking together. Share visible product markings already available and where the door drags; leave the panel in place. MEL ONE confirms suitable parts and whether adjustment, roller work or another assessed repair is appropriate.

Services

Roller repair, track clearing and wider issues

Roller and track work is matched to the actual housing, fixings, track profile and panel. A bent or heavily worn track can need work beyond cleaning. Glass replacement, security hardware, fire-rated systems and substantial frame damage are separate items.

Rainwater entry is also a separate fault: smoother sliding does not make an opening weather-tight. Frame drainage and seals need their own checks, and drainage holes must remain clear.
