A Room-by-Room Home-Maintenance Walk-Through
A non-invasive checklist for noticing household jobs and preparing a clear MEL ONE maintenance list.
Published
Look at spaces you use every day
Walk through each room and note ordinary-use observations such as a loose handle, dragging door, scuffed surface or furniture awaiting assembly. Do not force a fitting or move a heavy item to complete the list.
Observe outside from the ground
From an accessible ground-level position, note visible concerns around gates, paths, garden beds, screens and outdoor furniture. Leave roof access, pool-barrier concerns and structural movement for appropriate assessment.
Turn observations into an enquiry
Group tasks by area and note which affect day-to-day use, access or timing. A list supports a MEL ONE conversation; scope, availability, timing and any quote are confirmed directly for the individual request.
Key notes
- Note the room or outdoor area for each item.
- Record visible condition and the outcome you want.
- Observe outdoor areas from accessible ground level only.
Keep in mind
- This is general enquiry guidance, not an inspection report or a statement that a property is safe.
- An enquiry does not establish a booking, inspection result or final price.
